Pinterest Inspired Layouts with the Lipstick Chicks!

Good morning! I wanted to share with you a design a I created inspired by a "pin" I found on Pinterest. Pinterest is a place where people can see photos of art/photography/crafts and so many other things that have been posted by artists and admirers.

I chose a design I found in the Scrapbooking search. It caught my eye right away and in fact was by a very talented friend, Ann Jobes. I hope you'll go to Ann's blog and let her know how great her design is too!
Ann's design is based on a quilting pattern and I was inspired to choose a pattern of my own.

I chose this great new My Mind's Paper and trimmed the squares and cut them in half. I then worked to make my pattern and left some open spaces. I didn't want to cover up the wood grain paper! I then distressed the edges, and inked them with Distress Ink. After adherring them down I sticthed some of the edges.
I added the red ribbon and the two My Mind's Eye Pins with a big bow.
I added some old wooden letters from my stash and some strip journalling.

I hope you'll stop by the XOXO blog and see what other creations our team has designed! Until next time, keep doing what you love to do!
